Tribe Athletics in 3rd place

After a dominant group stage where the tribe went undefeated, the tribe fell to eventual runner-ups, Power-Puff Boys.



Tribe Ath. 1 - 0 Notorious Jatts

In a game where the Tribe dominated possession with the opposition crowding the box and getting bodies in the way, the Tribe won 1 - 0 courtesy of a goal from Rafael Malagrino.

Even though the Tribe had many chances to get on the score sheet the end result of the game did not reflect the dominance the team showed.

Tribe Ath. 3 - 0 Shock Waves

Playing with 2 defenders and 3 men up front, the tribe also dominated possession as a long range effort from Victor Bravo showed to be the opening goal. After a substitution at the back, Al Theuri netted twice for the Tribe to end the match 3 - 0.

Tribe Ath. 3 - 2 The Blues

Perhaps the only frightening moment in the Group stages as the Blues took an early lead when 3 Blues cut open our defenses. The Tribe came back from the deficit to 2 - 1 via goals from Marcus Duarte and Victor Bravo. The Blues pulled back with a direct goal from a corner as it curved over our goalkeeper. The Tribe finished the score with less than a minute left as Victor Bravo netted a decisive goal to bring out the Tribe on top.

Tribe Ath. 1 - 5 Power Puff Boys

As the Tribe were pulling back defiantly from a 0 - 2 deficit by a goal from Marcus Duarte, a error in refereeing gave the opposition an easy goal to bring the scoreline to 1 - 3. The referee blew the whistle supposedly stopping play, however the opposition played on as the referee let them run in and score. Frustrated by this, the Tribe men gathered around the referee as he counted the goal. This proved to be a pivotal point as the Power Puff Boys were one the score sheet twice more, 1 from an own goal by Hugo Soares de Sa as he tried to clear a cross.

Tribe Ath. 4 - 1 FIC United

Game for third place was played very in a care-free manner and the lack of pressured showed in the fluid performance of the Tribe. The only lapse being a counter attack by United as 3 men attacked with only 1 defender to beat. Al Theuri found the net twice; Marcus Duarte and Victor Bravo both scored 1.

Theuri cleared for action

Forward Al Theuri has been deemed fit to play in the upcoming tournament as he has performed well in practice. Tribe Athletics played a friendly against The Transformers who will also be playing in the tournament. Tribe dominated possession and was able to record a comfortable win as they look forward to Saturday's tournament which will see them face off against 15 other teams.
